About this site
Hi I’m Mike, and this is my personal site. I am a part-time Front End Developer in training looking to make the step to web design as a full time profession. I setup this Journal to share some of my thoughts, and to pass on some of the knowledge I have gained.
What Do I do
By day I currently work in a government department in customer service, but after building websites on a personal basis for the last 5 years or so I am currently looking into a career change. I am building my portfolio up at the moment, with the view to gaining full time employment within the web design industry.
I am proficient in the following area’s of web design.
- WordPress
- HTML
- CSS
- JQuery
I am also learning PHP and the Codeigniter fremework, in which I am building a photoblog.
A little more about me
I live near to Liverpool, in the North West Of England. I have many interests outside of Web Design. I play the Guitar, Bass Guitar and a little bit of keyboard which I have for the last 13 years, playing in a few bands when I was younger.
I love to listen to various kinds of music, mainly music from the 90′s and the 60′s, I also confess that I have a keen interest in 70′s glam rock such as slade, and T-Rex.
